🧘Mental health & Well-being

Relevant experience and activities

F4F considers a focus on well-being as one of the key areas of its work, given the significant mental health burden faced by Ukrainian adolescents amidst the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The organisation engages both young people and youth workers/educators in collaborative actions to create strong pathways towards greater self-regulation, inner peace, and a sense of belonging.

In relation to well-being and mental health projects, F4F has been part of:

– Art Well – KA220 on providing marginalised youth with an opportunity for self-expression and self-care through art-related practices.
– Create the Moment – a training course on mental well-being, using techniques based on the core values of art improvisation and Flow theory.
– Body & Mind – a youth exchange on well-being and plant-based cooking.
– Seeing Beyond – a youth exchange on well-being and mindful photography.
– Balance – a youth exchange on well-being and embodied movement.
– 4+ Elements – a training couse on well-being and somatic practices.
– Embrace Yourself – a youth exchange on expressive art therapy.
– Be Engaged in Exploring Self-awareness – a youth exchange on physical and mental health, and well-being promotion.

Locally, F4F and its learners have conducted:

– A series of dance and performance laboratories “Spirit of the Elements” – exploring the qualities, forms, and interactions of the elements through dance, movement, theatre, and performative practices. It examines how the body and imagination can connect with the forces of nature and use their qualities to express emotions and states of being.
– A workshop on contact improvisation and physical theatre.
– An art performance about the unique relationship between people and their loved ones during war, highlighting this as a resource for recovery and intimacy.
– A workshop on how (mindful) photography can help individuals better understand themselves.
– A workshop “EQ-Boost Mindset” aiming to improve self-awareness and understanding of own feelings.

As an associated partner, F4F was involved in:

– Mental Tools for Mental Health – a two-stage TC on self-awareness and coaching methods, utilising non-formal education approaches to improve mental health and well-being, while fostering social dialogue and a sense of belonging among youth.

💡Career & Entrepreneurial development

F4F places a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, leadership, and personal growth as core elements of its mission. The organisation envisions a world where every young individual is empowered with essential skills in negotiation, leadership, entrepreneurship, and employability, with a particular focus on fostering impact at the local community level.

In relation to entrepreneurship, labour market and leadership projects, F4F has been part of:

– AI Empowered Changemakers – a training course aimed at empowering youth workers to become effective change agents in their communities by providing training and resources on digital marketing and online engagement strategies.
– Ecosocial Rural Artists – a youth exchange designed to encourage eco-entrepreneurship among young artists.
– Young Star. Wise Mentor! A Development Program – a training course aimed at preparing youth workers to work more effectively and knowledgeably with young talent, equipping them with new competences and skills valued in the labour market.

Locally, F4F and its learners have conducted:

– An online workshop, “EQ-Boost Mindset”, aimed at providing strategies for achieving high performance, working more productively, and enhancing emotional intelligence.
– An online workshop, “Digital Digest”, focused on discussing changes in approaches to creating branding and content strategies, as well as facilitating business-scale transitions.
– An online workshop, “BRANDS NOW: How to be different nowadays?”, centred on consumer psychology and building a strong brand.
– A series of workshops, “Navigate the Globe with ERASMUS+” (Hoscha, Ukraine), highlighting opportunities for non-formal education and raising awareness about the Erasmus+ programme.
– A school learning session on the NEET situation in Ukraine (Hoscha, Ukraine), aimed at introducing school youth to the issue of NEET and exploring effective strategies for supporting and engaging NEET youth.
– A workshop, “Building bridges through marketing communication” (Dnipro, Ukraine), focused on developing a marketing system for art education institutions.

As an associated partner, F4F was involved in:

– United for NEET – a seminar designed to create a space for sharing different realities, exchanging experiences, and discussing good practices for working with NEET youth and those at risk of social exclusion.

As an invited organisation, F4F participated as a guest speaker in:

– An offline forum on International Training Opportunities and Career Development (Kyiv, Ukraine).

F4F recognises the vital role that digital competences play in providing every young person with equal opportunities to thrive, secure employment, and participate actively in society. Digital education is approached as both an inclusion tool and a means to foster creativity, critical thinking, and innovation.

The organisation promotes AI-based learning as a way to inspire young people to generate ideas and develop practical solutions, equipping them with essential skills for today’s rapidly evolving landscape. Emphasis is placed on digital literacy, including understanding data provenance, algorithmic fairness, and privacy safeguards. This empowers young people to engage responsibly with technology, critically assess information, and prevent the spread of disinformation.

In relation to digitalisation and innovation projects, F4F has been part of:

– AI Empowered Changemakers – a training course aimed at empowering youth workers to become effective change agents in their communities by providing training and resources on digital marketing and online engagement strategies.
– Digital Technologies = Critical Thinking and Media Literacy – a training course focused on advancing critical thinking and social media literacy skills.
– Bridging the Digital Divide – a youth exchange designed to address the challenges faced by underrepresented groups in adapting to new technologies and navigating the digital world.

Locally, F4F and its learners have conducted:

– A workshop for school teachers, preschool educators, and youth workers on how to turn AI into a classroom ally (Hoscha, Ukraine), exploring ways to make lessons more exciting, personalised, and engaging for every student.
– A workshop “Recognising AI-Generated Content” (Irpin, Ukraine), aimed at teaching adolescents, who are particularly vulnerable to disinformation on social media, how to differentiate between authentic content and manipulative AI-generated materials.
– A series of workshops at the National University of Ostroh Academy, covering topics such as the concept of inclusive AI technology, the opportunities and risks associated with future AI use, the exploration of the metaverse and its potential applications, and the role of AI in foreign language learning and teaching.
– A workshop for teachers and postgraduate students undergoing teaching practice at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute introducing and demonstrating practical AI tools that can be used to streamline professional work processes.
